True Hunger Vs Toxic Hunger - Do You Know the Difference? Toxic Hunger Toxic Shark
Hi friends! Did you know that your stomach growling is not a sign of hunger? If not, please read on. Most people are unaware of the true symptoms of hunger, which leads to overeating, unnecessary snacking, and addictive eating. Learn to distinguish between true hunger and addictive food cravings and you will liberate yourself from the cycle of toxic eating!
Toxic Hunger - What Do You Mean?
Let me first walk you through some common knowledge: what goes on when you eat. Your body first breaks down the food, completes digestion and assimilates nutrients accordingly. After it completes the digestive process, the body then engages in the critical processes of detoxification and cellular repair. It can only begin these processes once there is no more food to digest.
Where the Confusion Sets In
Here's the kicker: the symptoms of detoxification are almost always mistaken as hunger. Detoxification symptoms include: growling stomach, weakness, irritability, and headaches. These are not signs of hunger. However, we mistake them as hunger, and we eat. As soon as we eat something, the process of digestion begins again, which simultaneously STOPS the process of detoxification. The symptoms of detoxification, as noted above, are not enjoyable. When we stop those symptoms through eating, we feel better for a while. This further convinces us that we did the right thing by eating. Many who fall into this cycle claim to have "hypoglycemia". It is often no more than an unwillingness to feel the symptoms of detoxification as our body attempts to heal itself.
It should also be noted that only toxic foods can create the cravings mentioned above. We cannot become addicted to broccoli, because it is nutritious and healthy for the body. Broccoli also will not do a good job of taking away the crummy feelings of detoxification, therefore we seek out unhealthy food choices for temporary relief. The more toxic a food item, or even a drug is, the stronger its addictive properties.
True Hunger
True hunger is something that is rarely felt by most of us. This isn't to say that all of you are unhealthy people, not in any way. Yet, most of us do continue eating regularly when our bodies could use a major detox and rest period. If you experience the symptoms listed above after your stomach empties, your body is not telling you to eat. Your body wants time to remove excess wastes and toxic materials that have been stored up, possibly for years. The body possesses the ability to go without food for a long time, and this ability allows it to cleanse itself in wonderful ways. When the body is genuinely ready for food, it will not express this in the stomach. The symptoms of true hunger include:
-increased salivation
-a sensation in the throat similar to thirst
-heightened sense of taste
Allow your body to experience the symptoms of detoxification rather than continuing the cycle of eat, detox briefly, eat, detox briefly, etc. This is especially true when what you are eating is not centered around a high level of fruits and vegetables, for you are simply putting more toxins in the body, and then giving it no time to remove them.
Your body always knows what is best for you. Learn to recognize its signals correctly and you can make choices based on what your body needs, leading to increased energy levels, profound mental clarity, improved sleep quality, the removal of anxiety and tension, and a largely increased life span!
With love and wishes for health and prosperity always,
Brian
